DEKASYL MS-5 is an MS polymer-based adhesive with high adhesion and green strength, which is suitable for producing elastic connections between components. Due to its high adhesive strength, clamping times can be reduced or jamming can be completely eliminated. In addition, DEKASYL MS-5 can also be used as a sealant when similar materials (of similar stiffness) are to be joined or when mechanical fastening methods are used.

PROCESSING

DEKASYL MS-5 can be easily applied with a hand gun or air pressure gun at temperatures from +5°C to 35°C. For sealing, DEKASYL MS-5 should be further processed or smoothed within 12 minutes (at 20°C/50% relative humidity) with a spatula or putty knife previously dipped in mild Dekafinisher. Avoid getting DEKAFINISHER between the bond faces and the sealant as this will lead to a loss of adhesion. For bonding, the substrates must be assembled within 15 minutes (at 20°C/50% relative humidity) after applying DEKASYL MS-5. The higher the temperature, the shorter the processing time! General becomes an adhesive layer of 2 mm is recommended if similar materials (of similar strength) are to be bonded. The greater the difference in thermal expansion, the thicker the adhesive layer should be.
At a temperature of 20°C and a relative humidity of 50%, DEKASYL MS-5 can be painted over with most industrial paints after just 10 minutes. The best possible adhesion of paint layers is achieved if the paint is applied 4 hours after using DEKASYL MS-5. Clean the tools or remove residues of DEKASYL MS-5 that have not hardened with a clean, colorless cloth that has been soaked with DEKACLEAN ULTRA, for example (it is recommended to check beforehand whether the surface will be attacked by this cleaner).

ADVANTAGE

1. Free from solvents, isocyanate and PVC
2. Very good UV resistance and resistance to aging.
3. High green strength
4. Generally good adhesion without primer on various substrates.
5. Permanently elastic in the temperature range from -40°C to +120°C
6. Neutral, odorless and fast curing
7. Recoatable (wet on wet) once the skin has formed, this generally does not affect curing Compatible with most industrial paint or finish systems, both alkyd and emulsion paints (due to the large number of different types of industrial paints, a compatibility test is recommended).

Application

1. Elastic connections and seals in train, caravan, mobile home and truck construction.
2. Bonding of windows, AT systems, solar module spoilers, semi-flexible solar modules or roof ducts
3. Bonding of edge profiles on trailers with aluminum or polyester
4. Bonding of polyester parts with metal frames

LIABILITY

In general, DEKASYL MS-5 adheres well without a primer to clean, dry, dust and grease-free substrates made of aluminium, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most painted metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP) , painted and lacquered wood, etc. No adhesion without pre-treatment on polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon®. It is recommended to clean the substrates with DEKACLEAN ULTRA. An adhesion test prior to application is recommended. When high adhesion is required in cases of high thermal or physical stress, especially in humid environments, the use of Dekavator is recommended.

STORAGE

DEKASYL MS-5 can be stored in the closed (unopened) tubular bag for 12 months in a dry place at a room temperature of +10°C to +30°C (cartridges 18 months).
