Q/A

  • 1. Do I need to disconnect the solar suitcase from the charge controller before connecting it to the battery?

For solar suitcase or small setup, you do not need to disconnect the solar suitcase from the charge controller.

  • 2. What is the maximum length of extension cable I can use with suitcase?

You can use 10 Ft 10 AWG Extension cable with the suitcase. Also, you will need two extension cable: one for positive and one for negative.

  • 3. Can I remove the charge controller of the suitcase?

We do not recommend removing the charge controller of the suitcase as it will void the warranty.

  • 4. Can I connect Renogy solar suitcase to my Solar ready RV?

The Renogy Panel comes with MC4 connector. You will need to purchase separate cable converter. (Please check with professional installer for the required cable)

  • 5. Does the suitcase panel come with protective case?

Yes, a durable weather resistant case comes with the suitcase solar panel.

  • My RV is solar ready. How do I plug-in?

Solar ready does not necessarily mean all-solar ready. It usually means the brand your RV manufacturer works with. Our systems are designed to make direct battery connections. We are unable to verify prewired systems, since every manufacturer and vendor does things differently, and are unable to make recommendations for compatibility. We do have an SAE Adapter, which is another generic solar connector-type. We do not offer any more adapters or wiring.

  • Can I expand my solar suitcase?

Please be advised if you purchase a suitcase with a pre-installed charge controller you will not be able to expand the suitcase unless you are willing to void your warranty.

This is due to the fact that suitcases sold as kit are only intended to be used as a kit, any alteration or modification done to the wiring of the suitcase will result in voiding the warranty.

If you intend on expanding your suitcase, we recommend purchasing a suitcase without a charge controller or considering our Portable RV kit.

Buying the components separately will make expansion a breeze and there will be no need to modify your wiring.
